There are a lot of different myths and ideas on how you should come to your appointment for an event style. I'm going to break down everything I think you do in order to achieve the frizz free, long lasting, goregous style you are aiming for.
A good shampooing. Use a clarifying and/or volumizing shampoo. Remember the old lather rinse repeat, 2-3 washes based on your product and oil build up. Focus on your scalp and root area.
Treat your hair to a nice moisture mask. Moisturized hair is less likely to frizz. Just keep in mind what your hair can handle, don't use anything too heavy or too close to the root/scalp area. You can also opt for just a moisturizing conditioner.
Use a leave-in conditioner and volume mousse to blow dry your hair. The blow dry does not have to be perfect. Focus on lift at the root area by lifting with fingers while blasting with dryer or hold head upside down. Then try smoothing ends by holding dryer near the brush and following brush to the ends. A unified texture creates a nice even canvas for me to create your style. Blow drying also helps prevent weird splits and fight cowlicks that are hard to control once dried. **Have curly hair and want a natural curly style, look below at my FAQ about curls**
Be mindful of how you treat your hair once prepped. Messy top knots create tangles and weird crimps. As well as tight ponytails.
Please wash your hair 12-24 hours before your appointment. Dry shampoo is not the answer, If I feel it will be beneficial than I will apply it for you. Some brands do not work will with my products and cause flaking, or create a powdery shadow, or cake up my tools.
Fresh, clean, DRY hair is your responsibility. I trust you know your hair but know I can only work with the canvas I'm given. Dry hair is non-negotiable, it disrupts the tight time line and you will be ask to go dry it while I work on someone else.

Follow step 1 and step 2. At step 3 apply your leave-in conditioner and apply mousse and/or gel what ever you use on all of your curls. Add all products on dripping wet hair for best results. After applied gently scrunch dry with a soft towel or t-shirt to remove excess water. Then use a diffuser on your blow dryer to dry your curls. Diffusing adds lots of volume, be sure to flip head side to side and up side down for lift at the scalp. Be sure not to touch too much, you want to keep your curl cast intact. Once dry I suggest not breaking the cast till we start styling just to insure curls stay frizz free.
YES!!! Please if you want to be pampered and let a professional handle it please do. Just inform them you are getting your hair styled the next day and not to use a lot of product (volume mossue, leave-in, minimal hairspray). I also offer blowouts at my suite reach out if you would like to book with me. Or we can have a blow out party if resources allow.
